C-12 Dance Theatre continues to be a strong feature in the programmes of outdoor festivals this summer, with two pieces on the road.
Winner of the Argus Award for Artistic Excellence at the Brighton Festival 2012, C-12’s high octane performance Trolleys for five dancers and their shopping trolleys is being revived for a third season. Choreographed by award-winning Australian choreographer Shaun Parker, Trolleys has become one of the must-see shows on the outdoor performance circuit, with trolleys spinning, gliding and sliding at speed, skilfully guided by C-12’s dancers. Conceptually simple, the work is eternally thought-provoking yet equally accessible to the masses. Dates confirmed so far are:
21 & 22 June Ashbourne Festival
24 June & 15 July City of London Festival
7 & 8 August Theater op de Markt, Dommelhof
9 & 10 August TheaterFestival Boulevard, ‘s-Hertogenbosch
13 August Kent Festival
13 September Chateau Thierry, France
A worthy follow up to Trolleys, Market Stall is C-12’s latest piece of outdoor dance theatre, incorporating circus skills, parkour and dance, and promising a feel-good experience for people of all ages. The production comes with a fully-functioning mini-market stall, designed to be danced in, around and over. As well as forming the centre-piece of the new production, the market-stall can also be used to roam the streets to promote the performance and your festival if required.
