The 2014 tour of junk ensemble‘s The Falling Song in the UK is to be supported by a grant from Culture Ireland. Junk ensemble have received the offer following an application made in May. Funds from Culture Ireland provide the green light for an eight venue tour in March and October which has already secured funding from Arts Council England and The Arts Council of Ireland. Dates so far confirmed for the March tour include Laban Theatre, London, Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth Jersey Opera House, Theatre Royal Winchester and MAC, Birmingham.
Part witty dance theatre, part mythical chamber opera, The Falling Song is the 2012 production by Dublin based junk ensemble. Performed by an international all-male cast and a live children’s choir and featuring a set of towering ladders, ropes and hundreds of apples, this critically acclaimed production looks at the nature of flying and falling and the dangerous relationship between the two.

A co-production with junk ensemble, The Falling Song is the first Incredibly Rare production from Sarah Trist Dance Management Agency. Incredibly Rare indicates a curatorial element to Sarah Trist’s producing role.
