Witty dance theatre meets mythical chamber opera in The Falling Song, a compelling new production by Dublin based twin choreographers Jessica and Megan Kennedy, a.k.a. junk ensemble.

The strength of this piece lies in the Kennedys’ considerable skill in allowing images, sounds and movement to sit side-by-side in their production without one element undermining or overwhelming the others.  Featuring an impressive stage set with towering ladders, stacked mattresses, mounds of apples and a local children’s choir, the performance investigates the nature of falling (falling in love; falling from grace), self-destruction and invincibility. The sub-plot is male identity and physicality, explored by the excellent cast of dancers (Omar Gordon, Carl Harrison, Eddie Kay, Jesse Kovarsky).

Expressions of interest in a tour in March 2014 are sought from promoters in England.  Download the Falling Song Promoters pack or watch the video trailer.
