Company Chameleon has put together two videos of its latest outdoor duet Hands Down to promote the company’s tour in 2015. They bring together footage from two different performances filmed at Greenwich & Docklands International Festival earlier this year: one was the usual outdoor performance version; the other, on a rainy day, was filmed in a glass covered atrium.
Commissioned by Greenwich & Docklands International Festival and Dance Manchester, this 17 minute contact-based duet, the third in a trilogy of outdoor pieces by the company, explores how, as we walk the tightrope of togetherness, many faces combine to achieve a semblance of union – complicity, duplicity, letting go and holding tight.
