Driven by the premise of speed and motion Hurry Slowly is Retina’s new dance production, mixing contemporary dance with urban movement, circus skills and new music. The piece will be visually and aurally tantalising, exploring the psycho-physicality of speed and motion and the frustration resulting from thinking one could always do more.
The limitation of space and time is not being able to do everything at once. Sometimes it is sheer physicality, such as when the body hits its limits, or the mind gets too cluttered, and so on. Sometimes it seems like an external limitation, such as the idea is formed but the avenue is not available. Whatever it is, frustration can build up if one begins to think that one could do so much more…Filip Van Huffel
